History
The name of the company "Semland" comes from the Samland (today Kaliningrad) peninsula. It reflects old trading traditions of the Hanseatic Trade Union established in 1356 as an association of cities of the northern Germany with the aim of creation of strong trade ties. Among others, Kaliningrad (Königsberg) was a member of the Union. In 1336 Lübeck became the head of the Hanseatic League, and it still retains its primacy in the Union reestablished in 1980 in the spirit of new trends of the united Europe. The head office of the company is now situated in the German city of Lübeck.
Founded in 1993 in the town of Kaliningrad, the company originally focused on international transportation.
Since 1999 the company's primary activity has been the sale of trucks from Europe.
In 2004 German company «Semland GmbH» started its operation.
In 2008 a representative office of OOO «Semland» opened in St. Petersburg.
Over these years the company has developed from a small transportation company in the city of Kaliningrad to a growing logistics company with offices in Germany and St. Petersburg. It was no easy. The most difficult task was to maintain stability during the economic crisis. But now the company is well-established and willing to share its experience and knowledge with its customers.
